Do You Take Insurance?

Clean Recovery accepts a wide variety of health insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem BCBS, BCBS, Beacon, Blue Cross of Florida, Cigna, Emblem Health, Health First, Magellan, Meritain, Molina, MultiPlan, Optum VA Community Care, PNOA, TRICARE, UMR, and Zelis.

What Is the Intake Process?

You will receive an initial assessment via phone or video call to determine your appropriate treatment path. Upon arrival, you will meet with nursing staff who conduct a more comprehensive assessment of your physical and mental health. These evaluations help guide the next steps in your treatment journey, whether that begins with detox, residential care, or outpatient support.

Will I Get a Psychiatric Evaluation?

Yes. Within the first 48 hours, you will receive a psychiatric evaluation from a licensed therapist to help create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

How Long Will I Be at Clean?

Treatment duration varies by individual. Research shows that longer stays in structured programs improve outcomes, with many clients benefiting from 30-90 days or more, depending on their specific needs.

If you need help arranging your trip, call us at (888) 330-2532.

Your First 24 Hours at Rehab

The first day focuses on assessing your physical and mental health. Registered nurses perform intake assessments and work with an on-call physician to determine your individualized care plan. Within the first 48 hours, patients also meet with a licensed therapist for an initial psychiatric evaluation.

Some patients may begin in short-term medical detox. Clean Recovery emphasizes complete abstinence but may use Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) briefly if medically necessary.

What to Bring to Rehab

Packing for treatment can feel overwhelming, but you only need the basics. Keep it simple and practical so you can focus on recovery. A good guideline is to bring about two weeks’ worth of clothing and personal items.

Consider including:

  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
  • A pair of workout clothes and sneakers
  • Alcohol-free toiletries and hygiene items
  • Insurance card and a government-issued ID
  • Books or reading material for downtime
  • Medications in original bottles, along with a list of prescriptions

What Not to Bring to Rehab

Certain items can interfere with the treatment environment, create safety risks, or simply aren’t necessary. To help keep your stay focused and safe, please leave the following at home:

  • Drugs, alcohol, or non-prescribed medications
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Food, drinks, or energy supplements from outside
  • Clothing that is too revealing or inappropriate
  • Electronics that could disrupt therapy (gaming systems, TVs, etc.)
  • High-value or sentimental items that could be lost or damaged
  • Pets (only certified ADA service animals are permitted)

Phone and Electronics Use

Patients are welcome to bring cell phones, tablets, and other electronics; however, access may be limited depending on the level of care or daily therapeutic activities. These guidelines are in place to protect focus during treatment and maintain a safe, recovery-centered environment. Staff will let you know when personal device use is appropriate, and family communication can always be arranged through staff if needed.

Grooming Products

You may bring your own personal grooming products, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, and lotion. All items must be alcohol-free and in their original, unopened packaging. Products that could be used in unsafe ways, such as aerosol sprays, glass containers, or sharp objects, are not permitted. Our staff is happy to answer questions before you arrive to ensure everything you bring is approved.

Laundry Services

Laundry is provided once per week using large, commercial-grade machines. Because of this, we recommend leaving delicate or irreplaceable clothing items at home. We suggest bringing comfortable, practical clothing that can withstand frequent washing. If you need additional laundry done during your stay, speak with staff about available options.

Inpatient/Residential Rehab

Residential treatment at Clean Recovery Centers provides a safe and supportive 24-hour environment designed to help clients build healthy routines and focus fully on recovery. Each day is structured with a balance of therapy, personal reflection, and wellness activities to promote growth and stability.

A typical day may include:

  • Morning town hall meetings
  • Group and individual therapy sessions
  • Process groups to discuss progress and goals
  • Lunch and personal time
  • Afternoon group sessions or recreational activities
  • Gym or indoor/outdoor activity time
  • Evening wrap-up and 12-step or other recovery meetings

Weekends may include off-site activities for patients in the appropriate phase of care.

This combination of therapy, community, and wellness is meant to support lasting recovery by providing consistency while also allowing time for personal reflection and growth. Each client’s journey is unique, but the structure of residential care ensures no one has to walk it alone.

Our Rehab Curriculum

Clean Recovery uses an evidence-based curriculum designed to help patients develop the skills needed for long-term recovery. Assignments may include exercises in stress management, identifying triggers, and practicing healthy coping strategies. Work may be shared in therapy sessions as appropriate.

What Will My Loved One’s Treatment Entail?

Your loved one will follow a structured daily schedule of therapies and activities designed to treat substance use and any co-occurring mental health concerns.

Their day may include:

  • Individual and group counseling with licensed therapists
  • Educational sessions on addiction and recovery
  • Recreational therapy, wellness groups, and creative outlets
  • 12-step and peer support meetings

From day one, our staff will also help them create an aftercare plan so you both know what ongoing support looks like after treatment ends.

Do You Allow Phone Calls?

To protect everyone’s privacy and ensure treatment stays the focus, phone use may be limited during certain levels of care. However, your loved one will have access to their phone or approved devices during scheduled times, with more freedom granted as they progress.

For clients without personal devices, landline phones are available.

If you need updates, our team can only share information if your loved one has signed a release of information (ROI) form with your name listed.

Can I Bring Gifts or Items to My Loved One?

Yes, families may bring approved items. For safety, all items are checked in at the front desk and searched. Please avoid outside food or drinks. Thoughtful, useful items such as alcohol-free toiletries or comfortable clothing are always welcome.

What Is My Role?

Your role is to provide steady support while also setting healthy boundaries. Recovery is not just about the individual – it’s a family process.

Clean Recovery Centers offers:

  • Family therapy (in-person or virtual) to repair relationships
  • Weekly family education programs to help you understand addiction and the recovery process
  • Guidance on supporting without enabling

Family Visits

Yes, visits are available at designated times depending on the phase of treatment. These sessions give you a chance to reconnect while also respecting the therapeutic process. Details on visitation will be provided by your loved one’s treatment team.

Can I Video Call with My Loved One in Treatment?

In-person visits are encouraged when possible, but we understand distance and schedules can make that difficult. Video calls may be an option depending on your loved one’s treatment phase. These arrangements are coordinated with your loved one’s therapist to ensure they support the recovery process.

Supporting Without Enabling

It’s natural to want to help, but recovery often requires giving your loved one space to do the hard work themselves. Supportive actions include:

  • Showing empathy without judgment
  • Offering encouragement while keeping healthy boundaries
  • Removing alcohol or drugs from the home before they return
  • Being aware of relapse warning signs

We’ll provide resources to help you recognize when support crosses into enabling.

When Your Loved One Leaves Clean Recovery

Your loved one won’t be left without a plan. Before discharge, they’ll receive a personalized aftercare program developed with our case management team. This plan may include outpatient treatment, sober living options, alumni programs, and community support groups.

Families are encouraged to learn the aftercare plan so you can help reinforce it at home.

What Is the Discharge Process?

At Clean Recovery Centers, clients don’t simply “finish” treatment and walk away unsupported. Every person leaves with a carefully planned aftercare strategy designed to bridge the transition back to daily life.

Our case management team works alongside your loved one throughout treatment to create this individualized plan, which may include outpatient care, alumni programs, and community resources. As a family member, you’ll be encouraged to understand the aftercare plan so you can help reinforce healthy next steps.

If your loved one has signed a release of information (ROI), we can also share updates with you directly, so you’ll know what to expect as they move forward.

Ways to Support Your Loved One

Supporting someone after treatment can feel overwhelming, but your role is vital. Here are a few guiding principles to keep in mind:

  • Be empathetic and nonjudgmental. Recovery can bring up guilt and shame. Remind your loved one that seeking help is a sign of strength and that you’re proud of their progress.
  • Offer both emotional and practical support. A kind word, consistency, and encouragement can go a long way as they rebuild their confidence and daily structure.
  • Maintain healthy boundaries. Support doesn’t mean enabling. Setting clear expectations protects both you and your loved one.
  • Care for yourself. Joining Al-Anon, Nar-Anon, or seeking therapy can give you tools to manage your own emotions and stress while better supporting your loved one.

Understand the Nature of Relapse

Relapse is often part of the recovery journey. It does not mean treatment has failed. Instead, it signals that your loved one needs additional support or adjustments in their plan.

You can help by:

  • Removing alcohol or drugs from the home.
  • Watching for warning signs, such as secrecy, withdrawing from sober supports, or old patterns resurfacing.
  • Encouraging open conversation and connecting them back to care quickly if concerns arise.

Stay Involved

Addiction affects the entire family, which is why ongoing involvement is so important. Clean Recovery Centers offers aftercare and alumni support to every client. Families who stay connected – through therapy, educational programs, or support groups – help strengthen recovery and reduce the risk of relapse.

By staying engaged in healthy ways, you’ll not only help your loved one succeed, but also give yourself the opportunity to heal and grow alongside them.

Attending to Your Own Needs

Addiction affects the whole family. To be the best support for your loved one, it’s equally important to care for yourself. We encourage families to explore:

  • Personal counseling or therapy
  • Support groups like Al-Anon, Nar-Anon, or Co-Dependents Anonymous
  • Family education programs offered by Clean Recovery Centers

Your healing matters, too.
